1. What 5 words would you use to describe your first job? Thirtysomething. Gourmet takeout. Late nights.

2. What 5 words would you use to describe your current job? Erratic. Fulfilling. Chaotic. Unstable. Exciting.

3. Do you like the ad business better now or when you first started? Now. Love how social media is changing the game and how traditional methods of distribution are breaking down.

4. What change has impacted your job on a day-to-day basis since you started your career? Non-linear editing; Inexpensive HD cameras, the world wide web – Basically, the entire digital revolution!

5. If you could give 5 words of advice for someone just starting out in the advertising business what would they be? Fight. Fail. Persevere. Believe. Passion.

Mr. Tom Donahue: When I began, I was editing on a KEM flatbed with big reels of film and ACTUAL bins of hanging selects! Within about six months, the Avid was introduced. Crew Cuts (where I worked at the time) embraced it readily. I was forced to learn how to use a mouse for the first time. Trepidation at first but am not sure I would have continued editing without it.
